AUGUST, 2009-2010
Dear Parents and Students,
WELCOME, to Fitzpatrick Elementary School for the 2009-2010. I can hardly believe that Summer Vacation is over and school bells are ringing again. It is my hope that your vacation was filled with fun, adventure and relaxation, and you are ready, energized, and excited about beginning another successful school year.
Parents and students, we need your continued support if our school and students are to reap the benefits of success. The home and school must work together by openly communicating about Academic Progress, Student Behavior and other concerns and issues affecting our boys and girls.
This handbook, which will be most helpful throughout the year, is designed as a quick reference outlining basic procedures. Parents, please read all of the information carefully with your child, so that rules and regulations are understood at the beginning of the year.
The handbook tells you exactly what is expected of you and the services and benefits that you may expect from us, the faculty, staff and administration.
Remember, this is our school. Let’s keep it the best school and make this the best year ever by functioning as a team while educating our students to their fullest potential in a safe and caring environment.
Sincerely,
Vera Thompson, Principal
“At Fitzpatrick, learning is not an option, but a requirement”
This will be the best year ever!!!!!!
Fitzpatrick Elementary School Philosophy
Fitzpatrick Elementary School's faculty, staff, and administration believe that education at the elementary level is a process by which assistance is given to help students develop an appreciation for their cultural heritage, and acquire knowledge, skills, habits, values and attitudes that will last throughout life, thus enabling them to become useful, informed citizens.
The faculty and staff further believe that there should always be open channels of communication between the school, home and the community. The faculty and staff assume the responsibility of keeping parents informed of procedures, school organization, methodology, change in textbooks, curriculum content, and all factors which contribute to the development of the student.
